Dorota is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with over 25 years of experience in providing counselling and social work services nationally and internationally. She received her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology (Marriage, Family, and Child Counselling) in 1999 from Pepperdine University in Los Angeles, CA, and a PhD in Medical Sciences in 2008 from Poznan University of Medical Sciences, Poland.

Dorota is fascinated by the brain, the mind-body connection and the immense possibilities that arise when we open ourselves to learning and understanding how various psycho-neuro-biological mechanisms work, how our environments and circumstances have shaped us and continue to do so, and how we can harness the power of that understanding towards change. Dorota specializes in working with people living with chronic/persistent pain syndromes, fibromyalgia, psychophysiologic disorders, PTSD, anxiety and depression.

Dorota’s overriding clinical orientation honours the mind-body connection, neurobiology, somatic, experiential, psychodynamic, existential-humanistic approaches, and the bio-psycho-socio-spiritual nature of our lives. She uses variety of approaches such as Pain Reprocessing Therapy, Sensorimotor and Somatic Therapies, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), Neurobiological Approach, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Applied Polyvagal Theory, Mindfulness-Based Therapy and others. She is also a Psychedelic Assisted Psychotherapist.
